Acorn West Staff:
My name is Kendal Healey and this will be my eighteenth school year with Acorn Montessori School! I am a certified teacher and graduate of Northern Arizona University. I hold a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Elementary, and Special Education, along with an Early Childhood, SEI, and Reading Endorsement. Working with children is my life’s ambition. It is my belief that early childhood education is the key to a successful, long-term academic career. I plan to take advantage of this and ensure that each child has a joyful learning experience this year that will set the foundation for life-long learning. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband and teenage son. We are sports enthusiasts so when we are not outdoors playing, we’re watching. Go Cubbies!

I’ve been working with young children for 12 years and Acorn has been my home for 7 years now. I have a bachelor’s degree of Graphic Arts and my NES certification for K-8. My favorite part of teaching is helping young minds grow and watching them blossom throughout the year. I’ve been married to my husband for 8 years and we just adopted our two amazing sons, Elijah (6) and Lucas (4). Painting, singing, and teaching are just a few of my passions. I’m also big on sweet tea and collecting coffee mugs. It is amazing to be able to come to work daily knowing I have the opportunity to change the lives of each and every one of my students.

My name is Kate Ganci, I began my career in child education and development as an assistant director at Camp Del Mar in San Diego, California from 2007-2013. After leaving the San Diego area, I acquired a position as a student supervisor at High Point Academy in Pasadena, California. For two years I gained valuable experience working at High Point until I decided to make yet another move to Northern California where I fell into the retail industry for a brief period of time. Never feeling satisfied with retail, I decided to return to my passion of mentoring children. I feel my experience, knowledge of procedures and safeguards, and high level of standards will ensure that the students at Acorn Montessori receive the highest level of care possible.
