Acorn Montessori Charter Schools located in Prescott Valley Arizona are pleased to be the recipients of two comprehensive grants.
The first grant, Title One, is being used to implement the new Framework for Common Core Learning and Teacher Effectiveness.
With our new Common Core Language Arts materials from McGraw Hill, “Treasures” students will read, work and collect information through the Common Core Curriculum in “Treasures” the areas of:
- Reading
- Writing
- Spelling
- Social Studies
- Technology
- Phonics
- Word Study
- Science
- Leveled and Independent Computer Practice.
Having these outstanding materials in each grade supports the effectiveness of teachers and curriculum.
The second grant is from the Arizona Department of Education, “Character Education” grant. The two components of the grant are “Positive Action” for Grades third through eighth and “Healthy Play” for grades Kindergarten through second grade. Acorn’s goal is to raise the school’s academic and social climate by encouraging positive education practice, social techniques, and healthy learning for both students and staff.
